Paradise Lane Quilt: The one from the sew-along
I host one sew-along each year and this year, the Paradise Lane Quilt was selected as our make! When digging through my stash to select fabrics for the quilt, I decided to go a bit outside my comfort zone and select a palette that required a background fabric that is a bit darker than I normally select.
I found that I had a lovely mix of blues, including the perfect backing and binding options...the only thing was that the fabric pull included a few white and white-on-white fabrics that would clash too much with a Kona Snow or Natural choice for the background....
I decided to go with it and selected a soft light grey to use as my background fabric.
Once I made up my mind, it was time to cut into those fabrics and mix and match my blocks!!
During the sew-along, we spent several weeks sewing the blocks and then deciding on the layout for the quilt.
Once my quilt top was sewn up, I provided it to my step mom for some long-arm magic!!
I selected coordinating backing and binding from the Rifle Paper Co. Strawberry Fields collection, and could not be happier with how it turned out!!
Now that this quilt is sewn and bound, it is time for a trip through the washing machine to get cozy and crinkly!!
