Paradise Lane Quilt: The Golden Hour One
You can get your copy of the Paradise Lane Quilt Pattern here!!!
I had so much fun making this quilt! It's my third Paradise Lane and it has all of my favorite quilty elements! First off, this pattern is a mix and match - I love pairing up different fabrics side by side and the color movements these patterns create :)
Let's talk about the fabric pull! When I saw the new Golden Hour fabric line designed by Alexia Marcelle Abegg for Ruby Star Society, I knew I would make at least one quilt with this fabric. Earthy colors with prints inspired by time spent in a garden??? Yes, please!
I paired my two favorite prints from the collection with some Essex Linen and a simple print from the Rifle Paper Co. basics line.
These fabrics are sooooo good! I used Kona Natural for the background, which matched the lighter color of the prints perfectly!! Then I cut and paired up the fabrics and was off and running.
Quilts with mix and match blocks usually come together pretty quickly for me because I have so much fun seeing how the different colors and prints look with one another. Then, when all the blocks are made, I usually look to find my favorite :). Can you guess which one? I'll give you a hint, its a mix of linen with a print.
I will spend a bit of time playing with the layout to space the colors and prints in a way that lets the eye travel around the quilt - rather than to a particular corner or section.
I decided to quilt it with some tight zig-zags spaced about an inch apart. Usually, I use this stitch with some looser quilting, but i wanted to see how it looked and felt tighter and with all the linen in this quilt, it was the perfect quilt to give it a try.
This quilt has the perfect amount of snuggly crinkle after its wash!!
I used my favorite print and color from the fabric line to back the quilt and a fun coordinate from the line for binding. I hand stitched the binding with some big stitches, but it is difficult to see with this print.
This particular quilt has been one of my favorites to see come together. I love the fabric mix and texture of this quilt. I have one more Paradise Lane planned to make, but this one might prove to be my favorite :)
