Paradise Lane Quilt: The Dusty One
You can get your copy of the Paradise Lane Quilt Pattern here!!!
This quilt was a bit out of my comfort zone, but it was a lot of fun to make! When picking out fabrics for a new quilt project, I usually include one or two prints, but generally like to mix basics, solids, and woven fabrics. BUT....for this quilt, I decided to go all in with prints, only using one solid for my background.
I loved the colors in these prints and a few of these prints are favorites, so I decided, why not use all of the prints!!!
Then it was off to mixing and matching and mixing and matching...
One I felt good about how everything was mixed, it was off to sewing up the blocks. These blocks do sew up pretty quickly, and it is fun to see the progress.
I did end up working on several other quilty projects in between sewing up these blocks - including working on and releasing the Clarendon Quilt Pattern.
Once I had all of the blocks finished, I quickly assembled the top and basted it for quilting. I decided to go with simple, horizontal, large zig-zag stitches - a favorite for fast simple quilting that always seems to come out of the dryer with the perfect amount of snuggle!
I chose one of my favorite Bonnie Christine prints in the perfect coordinating color for the backing and went with some scrapping biding that was finished with some chunky stitches (another personal favorite!)
