Lamar Quilt: The Isla One
So, when you know a little girl who loves browns, pinks and purples and a fabric line comes out with her name in a brown, pink and purple palette what do you do? Yep, you make her a quilt!!
The Dear, Isla fabric line from Cotton + Steel is so so good, and when it came out I knew I had to make something for the adventurous Isla I know!!
The Lamar Quilt calls for nine fabrics. I picked a few from the fabric line and filled in with a couple of solids and a couple of linens to round it out and then began cutting.
This pattern sews up so quickly - even this large throw size comes together in a single day!!
This quilt pattern is a fun, asymmetrical design that mostly uses strip piecing with a few extra quilty elements :)
I also love when a quilt pattern lends itself to some quilting. I followed the pattern design with some straight line quilting along each of the strips and it made for a super snuggly quilt when finished.
And, can we talk about this binding for a minute?? This purple print from the Dear, Isla line is so good!!!
I chose the large scale print for the backing and HAD to create a label for Isla with her name on it from the selvage!!
I hope you enjoy this quilt pattern as much as I do! It's a great, fast finish and perfect for showing off some fun large-scale prints!!
