Lamar Quilt: The Berry Patch One
This Lamar Quilt was the fourth version I made - and the first quilt kit that I have put together!
I have always had a thing for fabric. It's what brought me in to quilting (you get to use so much more fabric in a quilt!!). And this year, I took the plunge and began to offer it for sale!!
I was working on the Lamar pattern at the same time and wanted to develop a quilt kit. My favorite part of quilting is the fabric pull and it was a lot of fun 'shopping' from my own curated selection. The quilt kit comes in either baby or throw size and has all of the fabric for the quilt top and binding.
And thankfully this is a really fast quilt to make so I had the top pieced that day!!! I pulled out a fun ikea duvet I had saved for a bit and quilted it simple straight line quilting that follows the pattern.
Using Ikea duvets for quilt backings is one of my favorite was to save some money! They are usually pretty affordable, and you get TWO quilt backs for each duvet!! My only word of caution is to make sure you read the materials closely as some have a interesting blend of materials that is not great for quilting, but the 100% cotton and cotton flannel duvets are always perfect!
I hope you enjoy the Lamar Quilt! It is a fast and easy quilt pattern - perfect for the beginner or when you need that last minute gift!
