Carol Avenue Quilt: The green one.
You can purchase the quilt pattern here!!
It's no secret that my favorite color is green, and this pattern needed to have a green green version! I made this quilt around Christmas time, so it definitely has a Christmas-y feel to it, but really, it is perfect for any time of year!
I picked out some fun Kona Cotton colors in some of my favorite colors. From top to bottom they are:
- Bonsai
- Ivy
- Palm
- Laurel
- Eucalyptus
I also used my favorite neutral - Kona Natural - for the background fabric.
I feel that this color palette has more desert green feel to it. Laurel is one of my favorite Kona's as it has an color reminiscent of desert sage.
This quilt comes together so fast! It is probably the fastest make of all of my patterns! A top can come together in a day! Then I chose to back this quilt with my last, favorite Ikea duvet cover.
I've mentioned this before, but one of my favorite money saving tips is to use Ikea duvet covers for backing. From time to time, I'll check their selection and look for something in either cotton or flannel that has a good neutral design. They are usually super affordable, and you get two backings out of each duvet!! I've hoarded this one for about a year, and decided it was finally time to use it.
I kept the quilting simple with 2-inch lines set on the diagonal. I feel that diagonal quilting give the quilt more drape when finished and washed.
And, finally, for the binding I went with this gorgeous green and gold Brushed by Sarah Watts. It's the perfect not-quite-solid-but-not-quite-stripped-print to finish off this quilt!
Then, naturally, it was time to take the quilt out to the trail for some lovely photos!
I hope you enjoy this quilt as much as I do. Thank you for following along!
